2017 HHF Maple Season - Week Three

Greetings from all of us at Harding Hill Farm,

The official Maple Month (brought to you by NH Maple Producers Association) has arrived! Mother Nature threw another curve ball with cold temperatures on the way, but we will boil stored sap and keep the place as warm as possible. We expect high temperatures in the teens this weekend, so if you are planning a visit... dress warmly! I'm a bit late with this week's update, but you can blame these critters. I had to get the cows all settled with fresh bedding for the cold night ahead. 


Maple season marched on this week with a moderate sap run. We had one week night boil and saved the remaining sap for the upcoming weekend. So far this season, we collected nearly 12,000 gallons of sap. Our farm dog, Acer, helped us out this week... we refer to him as 'the supervisor'.

The maple syrup count is up to 234 gallons of liquid gold. The maple grade changed back to a Dark Robust since last Sunday's boil. It is taste tested and approved for all the Dark syrup fans. Be sure to check out our sugarhouse board for updates when you stop by!

We are open with regular weekend hours this weekend, despite the cold! We have all size plastic containers available for sale. We also have a selection of glass maple leaves and our signature Lake Sunapee bottles. For those of you that follow us on Facebook, stay tuned for some fun news as we approach next weekend!

Join us this weekend for a taste of spring as you try to warm up from the cold weather. The evaporator room will be nice and warm! We have a selection of Grass Fed Beef and a supply of pork available for sale.

Mark your calendars for every weekend in March. We will be open 10am till 4pm on Saturdays, and 11am till 4pm on Sundays. The traditional NH Maple Weekend celebration is March 25th and 26th, and we will be set up for more detailed tours and lots of maple and beef samples! **Don't forget - Our sugarhouse is located at 131 Route 103 in Sunapee just below the Wendell Vet Clinic. Make sure you do not follow our farm address to Stagecoach Road.

Looking to stock your freezer or just need ideas for dinner, come see us at the sugarhouse for a selection of Harding Hill meat. We will have our popular steaks, ground beef, sausage, and more! We also have a limited selection of pork - get your ham steaks and boneless pork chops while it lasts! Don't forget to check out our favorite recipes on the website.
